An outing to CARYMOOR EDUCATION CENTRE – SOMERSET
June’s meeting will be an evening field trip – something quite different for us. Carymoor is an environmental education and nature conservation charity providing inspirational outdoor learning for all ages and communities. It was set up in 1996 on 100 acres of capped landfill and since then has transformed itself into a haven for wildlife and sustainability. Based near Castle Carey, it is built on an old closed landfill site. There is an active one nearby so they will talk about the interesting juxtaposition of sustainability and waste.
It is suggested that we car share as it is just over an hour away from Lyme Regis. Come and join us for an inspired and informative evening. Bring a picnic supper and £5 donation to the centre. Please let us know if you can offer spaces in your car – or if you need a lift. Car driving volunteers would be very welcome! We plan to leave Lyme soon after 5pm.
Please contact us to book your place by Tuesday 5th JUNE so we can let the Centre know how many are coming.
