Waste Not Want Not

Sustainable Dorset are excited to be taking part in Blandford’s first sustainability fair on Sunday 19th August in Angus Wood, a delightful woodland setting in the heart of Blandford.

The fair promises to be an inspirational and fun day for all.

Visitors will be able to enjoy a wonderful variety of tasty plant-based savouries, snacks, cakes & drinks whilst enjoying live music from ‘DirtStew’ or listening to interesting talks and films on how we can all help to create a zero waste, Sustainable Dorset for a healthier future for people and planet. There will be lots of food and drink stalls (including a licensed bar) and information stands to browse as you wander through the lovely venue in a wooded community park.

There will be fun for all the family with creative activities for children, a Lush workshop on making zero-waste soaps and bath products, and interesting talks or films throughout the day. The talks start at 10.30am with Monique Monroe from local Ideas2Action recycling & re-using project, followed at 12.00pm by Dorset’s raw food expert and conscious living guru Gabriela Lerner, then at 1.30pm a presentation by Sophie Colley of Litter Free Dorset., followed by a showing of the award-winning eco-documentary, ‘Cowspiracy’ from 2.30pm.’

All the above talks and films are included in the suggested entry donation of £3 for adults (children under 16 free), with proceeds going to support Sustainable Dorset and Blandford War on Waste. Children Free.
