Is your toaster playing up? Has your favourite jacket got a split seam or lost a few buttons? Nobody wants to throw away their useful and beloved items, but we often don’t know if they’re fixable, or how to begin to try and mend them. Repair cafe is about members of a local community getting together to skill-share over coffee and cake – saving money, learning from each other, and reducing landfill. Bring your broken belongings along and one of our fixer volunteers may know just how to breathe new life into them. If they don’t, they’ll do their best to find out along with you. We currently are able to help particularly with electrical and textile jobs, but will take a look at most things, and hope to offer a broader range of skills when we have new regular volunteers.
P.s. if you know what you will be bringing along, please let us know in advance, it will help us make sure we’ve got the right knowledge and parts ready 🙂
You will find us in the Large meeting room on the 2nd floor.
