‘Peer Power’ support for community energy groups comes to Dorset
The Peer Power project aims to inspire groups in the county to develop new renewable energy projects that are owned by communities, benefit people in Dorset, and generate local clean energy. If you’d like to join this new Dorset community energy network and take part in the free events, then please come along to the Dorset Renewables Grand Tour, Saturday 4 March 10:15 – 16:00, book here. The day will include a delicious local lunch and visits to:
· a wind turbine where we will meet the local farmer and developer
· a school with solar PV installed by Dorset Community Energy
· a biomass district heating network with local woodchip supply
It is the perfect opportunity to see renewable energy technology in action, and to speak to volunteers, project developers and landowners who made the projects happen. Regen are arranging an exciting programme of Peer Power activities throughout the year including technical training, arts events and a feast. Peer Power has been organised in partnership with Dorset County Council and is funded by Power to Change. For more information please contact Jodie at Regen.
