Please join us for a screening of the fracking documentary ‘GROUNDSWELL RISING’ from Emmy Award-winning Resolution Pictures. ‘This film goes far beyond the subject of hydraulic fracturing. It’s a compelling and optimistic documentary about civil rights, the growing movement to defend our communities from industrial harm, and the tenacious people who are deeply committed to preserving the planet for future generations.’ ‘Infusing human rights, public health, and social justice into a deeply engaging, feature length documentary film, Groundswell Rising empowers viewers to make a difference in their communities. Through candid interviews and true stories, Groundswell Rising brings us into the lives of people directly impacted by hydraulic fracturing (fracking) and those on the front lines, dedicated to stopping this form of gas extraction’ (sleeve and website notes).

Running time: 70 mins. Following the film Charles Miller, our local expert from the oil and gas drilling industry, will also be on hand to answer questions about fracking.

As usual, this will be a free entry event, with hot drinks and biscuits provided, but donations to cover costs would be much appreciated.
