The film What Are We Waiting For? (Qu’est-ce Qu’on Attend?) will be shown in Bridport Town Hall on Thursday 2 November at 7.00 for 7.30.
The documentary is centred on Ungersheim, a town in Alsace, NW France. Led by the charismatic mayor, they have moved away from reliance on fossil fuels, building low energy straw-bale co-housing, growing organic food locally using horse power, and adopting a local currency to boost the community economy.
This is one of the most successful experiments at building a resilient transition town. Tickets for the screening, organised by Transition Town Bridport, are available at Bridport Tourist Information Centre for £5, or £6 on the door. Drinks will be served.
