What do you do with a bike when the wheels come off? Or with a jumper full of moth holes? Toss it? No way!
As part of Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival, we are doing a special one-off Repair Cafe event on Sunday 15 October from 11am, to help you save money and keep your stuff out of landfill! It’s also International Repair Cafe week.
You can find us at the Recycle for Bournemouth vehicle on the Seafront (near Harry Ramsdens).
By promoting reuse & repair, Transition Bournemouth & Recycle for Bournemouth want to help reduce mountains of waste.
You can bring along your broken items from home and various ‘fixers’ will be available to help make all possible repairs free of charge. Tools and materials will also be on hand. Clothes, bikes, toys, crockery… anything that is broken is welcome.
As we have no electricity at this event we won’t be able to fix your electrical items. You can bring them to our November event.
Repair Café is also meant to put people in touch with each other and helps you to discover your neighbours with know-how and practical skills.
