RESURGENCE & ECOLOGIST READERS’ GROUP

Please join us for another friendly Resurgence Readers’ meetup at Hilfield Friary, followed at 1.45pm by a talk & discussions with Dr Graham Lambert on the importance of organic food and agriculture in the UK.

Organic food production and consumption in the UK is eclipsed by just about every other EU country. Why are we in the UK so reluctant to embrace organic food?

Dr Graham Lambert was trained as a physical chemist. This background gave him a clear understanding of the science behind climate change, leading him to over 30 years of campaigning for action on climate change and organic food production. For the last two decades or so, until his recent move to Dorset, he ran an organic business in South Shropshire, as both grower and retailer.

As you’ll see from the link below, there are plenty of Resurgence articles free to read online, so you’re welcome to join us for the morning session, even if you’re not yet a subscriber. However, we highly recommend signing up to this excellent magazine, which we feel is the best publication available on environmental issues, social justice, ethical living and the arts (and is actually run as a charity as well!). Current magazine articles are available for you to read online.

This is a free entry meetup, but a donation of £5 to £10 would be much appreciated to cover our costs. Hot drinks will be provided, but PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH, and suitable footwear if you’d like to walk round the beautiful Friary grounds.
