The Sustainable Dorset AGM followed by a Talk on The Climate Emergency- UK Energy Policy and individual actions by Nikki Jones.
Topics will include – we have a climate crisis, but what are the time scales? Is this a problem for our children or for us? Is the UK a leader in the energy transition and whether we –as individuals- have a role in this?
Nikki is also a Trustee of the Charity ‘Avon Needs Trees’ which is currently buying 34 acres of land near Chippenham to replant with trees for carbon sequestration, habitat creation and public amenity space. If of interest, a donation of £2.50 buys a square metre of land and the minimum donation is £10. A donation to purchase land can be made on behalf of a nominated person for birthdays, Christmas and so on. They will receive a gift card telling them how many square meters of land you have bought for them. For details see https://www.avonneedstrees.org.uk/ click the Donate tab and scroll down and click the link ‘send a gift card’ if you would like to do so.
