About Sustainable Dorset

Sustainable Dorset aims to raise awareness and so increase interest and involvement in sustainability. We connect people and communities, supporting individual well-being, community enterprises and businesses in order to nurture resilience. We bring together sustainable activities across the region and showcase to the residents of Dorset what is being achieved.

Alongside connecting sustainable initiatives across Dorset, Sustainable Dorset is involved with:

  • Dorset COP - Launched by Sustainable Dorset, Zero Carbon Dorset and Dorset Climate Action Network in 2023, The Dorset COP is the UK's first ever community-led 'conference of the parties'. By bringing together a wide cross-section of community-based groups from across the county we raise awareness of the need and desire to act locally, in a way that puts people at the heart of decisions and is socially just. Find out more here.

  • The Green Living Guide - We produced The Green Living Guide to help you consider how to reduce your carbon footprint and live a more sustainable life.  Access to the guide online is available on this website and you can become a Green Living member for FREE.

  • Eco Schools - Whilst attending the Gryphon School COP in 2023, we learnt that Dorset is the only county without an Eco Schools website. There is now a dedicated space on our website for Eco Schools, please notify any schools that may be interested in joining.

We give talks around the county. If you would like to arrange one, please email connect@sustainabledorset.org
